We just got back from spending the last five days in Chicago. Temperatures were in the 80s while we were gone, and it didn't rain. The strawberries got burnt. I hope they survive.

I think that my coneflower has made it through the winter! The ground is very muddy today so I couldn't get close enough to see very well, but I think I saw some new growth just beginning to appear. :)

Finches

Yesterday I had a male and a female goldfinch on the thistle sock. Today the male and female house finch made a reapearance at the sunflower seed feeder.

This is my big peony that actually bloomed last year. I'm not sure why it is coming up later than the little one, but I am glad to see it making an appearance. :)
